This guide provides you with some suggested actions to take quickly when making the shift from teaching in a classroom to teaching remotely. It is a live resource and will be updated regularly. Building on the principles of the Block, in the event that you may not be able to come to class, we want to continue to foster a sense of belonging for our students. We want to mirror our pedagogical approaches online.
We are fortunate that our Block units and most others will already have all resources and assessment information available to staff and students in VU Collaborate, but there is more you can do.

Plan B for the Block
If you need to teach online, we suggest keeping to usual class times and days. In preparation for this, academic teaching staff should:
- Ensure all materials are up to date and available on VU Collaborate
- Prepare a clear communication plan for your students (see below)
- Run online classes at scheduled class times (see below)
- Ensure that, where possible, all assessments can be submitted online (see below)
